The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly unanimously passed a resolution allowing Facebook to make money in Pakistan.
The resolution was proposed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MP Ziaullah Bangash.
The provincial government should ask the federal government to take measures to “turn on” Facebook’s monetization so that youth can profit and earn money, according to the resolution.
According to the resolution, the speaker of the National Assembly had already met with Facebook officials and agreed to take measures to “turn on” monetization of the site in the country.
It went on to say that the move could benefit 50 million Facebook users in the country, particularly the youth.
