45 Million Pakistanis Unregistered in NADRA’s Database System

According to a report presented to the National Assembly on Tuesday, approximately 45 million Pakistanis are unregistered in the NADRA database system.

There is a 45-million-person difference between the National Database Registration Authority’s (NADRA) record and the population census results, as per the report.

According to the document submitted to the National Assembly, NADRA has a total of 176 million registered citizens, while Pakistan’s overall population was 221 million people in 2017, indicating a 45 million population gap between the two datasets.

The gender gap may be a major factor as per reports. The ratio of registered women to registered men is lower in many areas of the country where the population has a conservative mentality.

It is important to note that the authorities claim to have struggled in the past to register the adult population, especially women, for not only voting, schooling, health, and employment rights, but also for a variety of other reasons.
