The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is considering working with Elon Musk’s Starlink to tackle the region’s internet connectivity challenges.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Science and Technology, shared that if the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) does not resolve the ongoing issues, the provincial government will formally reach out to Starlink. The goal is to bring the company’s satellite-based internet services to KP.
Starlink, known for its high-speed satellite internet, could offer a reliable solution for areas in KP that currently lack stable internet access. This initiative aims to provide faster, more dependable connectivity, especially in underserved and remote regions, helping to bridge the digital divide.
By improving internet access, the government hopes to empower local communities, boost education, enhance business opportunities, and promote digital inclusion.
Reliable internet is increasingly becoming a necessity, and this potential collaboration reflects KP’s commitment to technological advancement and better services for its people.
