The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is currently building a six-lane bridge to alleviate traffic congestion. Ali Zaidi, who is the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, announced the news on Twitter.
According to the Minister’s information, KPT completed the bridge contract after two and a half years of planning and tendering. Along the Native Jetty bridge, a six-lane bridge will connect the East and West Wharves.
Furthermore, it will cost Rs 2.3 billion and will take 18 months to complete.
KPT anticipates that the six-lane bridge will decrease traffic congestion caused by cargo movement.
