Lahore Introduces ‘Blue Roads’ to Fight Pollution

In order to reduce air pollution, the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority implemented the “Blue Road” idea in Lahore, the provincial capital. A CBD spokeswoman stated that it is being used at the ongoing Kalma Chowk Underpass remodelling project and that blue asphalt will be used in road building.

According to him, the idea was initially developed in Qatar with the intention of modernising the city’s fundamental infrastructure and raising the standard of living for its residents. The concept, according to the official, will not only improve the road’s appearance but also make it heat-absorbing, he added, adding that it will also assist reduce air pollution in the city.

The CBD CEO declared that he was personally overseeing the road’s development and committed to finish the project by the deadline set by Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
