After the evaluation of technical proposals by three firms, the Lebanese firm, Darul Handsa has been selected to build the ‘Master Plan 2050 for Lahore.’
Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Director-General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) chaired a meeting of the advisory selection committee to prepare a new master plan for the provincial capital, in which a financial offer of Rs. 520 million for the qualifying company was opened.
The preparation of a new master plan in a transparent manner is a top priority, according to the Director-General, as it will decide the future course of Lahore’s growth.
In order to establish the terms of reference, experts and relevant stakeholders were also consulted (TOR).
The meeting was also attended by LDA Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Muhammad Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Metropolitan Planning Director Faisal Qureshi, Water Specialist Muhammad Riaz, City Chairman and Lahore University of Engineering Regional Planning Department Dr. Shakir, Planning & Development Department and Finance Department representatives, TOR Committee members Engineer Akbar and Kami and representatives of the three foreign firms, Darul Handsa of Lebanon, Mine Heart of Singapore and Nespak of Pakistan.
