The Pakistani startup ecosystem is thriving, but often, established industries get overlooked. The recent L’Oréal Professionnel Style & Colour Trophy is a prime example of how established brands can create exciting platforms for local talent.

Indeed, in August 2024, Pakistan’s hairdressing scene just witnessed a historic moment! L’Oréal Professionnel hosted the Style & Colour Trophy 2024 for the very first time in the country, attracting over 100 skilled stylists vying for the coveted title.

The finalists, including Faryal, Nabeel Hussain, Nabeela Mubeen, Shaista Riaz, and Uzma Bashir represented Faiza’s Salon in Islamabad, Sania and Sadaf Ali Asghar from Posh by Sarwat in Faisalabad, Sumaira (T&G North) and Humaira (T&G South), Hamid Latif, and Atif Zaib from Nabila’s Salon, showcased their creativity and expertise through stunning hair creations.

The event wasn’t just about competition – it was a celebration of the Pakistani hairdressing industry. The evening kicked off with an informative session followed by a captivating masterclass showcasing the latest trends and techniques. L’Oréal Professional Institute of Pakistan also took center stage, highlighting its role in grooming future hairdressing stars.

But the highlight, of course, was the participant walk. Finalists strutted their show-stopping creations, with the audience even getting to vote for their favorite look, adding an interactive element to the event.

The final walk saw the ultimate showdown of talent. The 12 finalists presented their masterpieces to a panel of esteemed judges, including renowned international hairstylist Indra Tanudarma and celebrated Pakistani model and actress Vaneeza Ahmad.

And the winner? Nabeel Hussain from Faiza’s Salon, Islamabad!

This competition signifies more than just a winner. As Qawi Naseer, Country Managing Director of L’Oréal Pakistan, stated, “The Style & Colour Trophy is not just a competition; it’s a celebration of the incredible talent that lies within our industry.”

This prestigious event marks Pakistan’s entry into the global ranks of the Style & Colour Trophy, offering local hair artists an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their creativity and skill on an international stage. L’Oréal Pakistan has long been a champion for the local beauty industry, training over 8,000 stylists and fostering the growth of the first two graduating batches from the L’Oréal Professional Institute of Pakistan.
