Machinery group imports decreased by 4.34 per cent during the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the same duration of the previous year.
As per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, imports from the Machinery category dropped from $4,433,056 in the last fiscal year in FY 2019-20 to US $4,240,484 in the same span of the current financial year.
Imports of construction and mining machinery decreased by 32.86 percent, worth $54,294, during the period from July to December 20 of this year, compared to imports valued at $80,871 over the same period last year, it added.
In the meantime, imports from Electric Machinery and Appartus decreased by 46.26%, worth $640,704, compared to imports estimated at $1,192,274 over the same period last year.
Other Appartus imports have decreased by 5.20 percent during the period under review, valuing $216,637 imported compared to imports worth $228,509 from the same period last year.
