Due to her outstanding performance in several leadership and administrative positions, Major General Nigar Johar made history by becoming the first female officer to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in June.
On Independence Day, Mahira Khan used her social media accounts to promote her next telefilm Ek Hai Nigar by releasing an official trailer. Mahira will play the first female Lieutenant General Nigar Johar in the film, which will also star Bilal Ashraf.
Nigar was born to a Pashtun family in Panjpir village in the Swabi area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. She acquired her early education at the Presentation Convent Girls High School in Rawalpindi in 1978 and went on to the Army Medical College in 1985.
Lt Gen Nigar has also received the Prime Minister’s Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal for her exceptional service in the Army Medical Corps.
