The Punjab government has decided to remove male professors from women’s universities to create a safer environment for female students. Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider announced this step, saying it would help prevent harassment and ensure better security on campus.
Along with this, the government is also making changes to how exam papers are prepared and checked. These reforms aim to stop any misuse of authority, such as blackmailing students.
In another major development, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expanded the Honhaar Scholarship Programme. Under this initiative, 1,947 students received a total of Rs89.8 million in scholarships. She also promised to increase the number of scholarships to 50,000 next year, ensuring that more students benefit from government funds.
Additionally, a guard of honor was presented to the students as a mark of respect and encouragement.
These steps reflect the Punjab government’s commitment to improving education, ensuring student safety, and supporting talented students financially.
