According to official sources, the mango export goal for the current season has been set at 150,000 tons, which would generate US$ 127.5 million in revenue for the country.
The export of the fruit brought in US$120 million last year, as per the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (APFVEA)
“We anticipate a season yield of 1.8 million tonnes of mangoes this year,” the association said.
According to the APFVEA, the climate effect would have a significant impact on the harvest this year, potentially resulting in a 15% yield loss during the current season. “Sindh has been experiencing a reduction in mango production as a result of climate change, as rain and storms could further reduce production.”
