Mari Energies Limited Discovered New Oil and Gas Reserves in Pakistan

Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in its energy sector with the discovery of new oil and gas reserves at the Mari Ghazij CFB-1 exploration well.

The discovery marks an important step toward reducing the country’s reliance on imported energy and strengthening its domestic production capacity.

Mari Energies Limited confirmed that the newly discovered site is expected to produce around 305 barrels of oil per day and 3 million standard cubic feet of gas (MMSCFD).

This development will contribute to meeting Pakistan’s growing energy needs and support the country’s long-term goal of achieving energy security.

The exploration well, which was drilled on September 12, 2025, reached a total depth of 1,195 meters. It represents the second successful oil discovery in the Mari Ghazij region, highlighting the area’s growing importance as a potential energy hub.

The company’s technical and geoscience teams played a key role in achieving this success through advanced exploration techniques and strong teamwork.

Mari Energies Limited’s CEO, Faheem Haider, praised the efforts of the company’s geoscientists and engineers, emphasizing their dedication to supporting Pakistan’s national energy goals.

He stated that such discoveries strengthen the country’s economy and open new opportunities for local development.

This announcement also comes at a positive time for Pakistan’s economy, as the State Bank’s foreign exchange reserves recently increased by $20.7 million. Together, these developments bring optimism to Pakistan’s economic and energy outlook, showing progress toward greater self-sufficiency and stability in the coming years.
