Mark Zuckerberg Officially Launched a Twitter Rival Platform ‘Threads’

Meta has introduced a new app called Threads, which shares similarities with Twitter in terms of its appearance and features. Threads is an extension of the Instagram app and allows users to share text, links, photos, and short videos of up to five minutes in length. The app’s launch has been accelerated to take advantage of recent issues at Twitter, where changes made by CEO Elon Musk have faced criticism. Users who already have Instagram accounts will automatically have a Threads account with the same username, but they must download the Threads app separately. The app was released worldwide on Thursday and has gained the support of celebrities like Gordon Ramsay, Shakira, and Lando Norris for promotional purposes.Threads is free to use, but users need a subscription to Meta Verified in order to obtain a blue verification tick. The app aims to provide a platform for text-based conversations and public discussions, similar to Twitter and other social media apps. It offers features such as following other users, recommended content, profile pages, and different sections for threads, replies, and reposts. Threads can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store in over 100 countries.
