Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, on the fourth day of her official visit to China, visited Huawei Technologies in Shanghai’s Longgang District, where she received a warm welcome.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz shared her plans to work with Huawei to turn Lahore into Pakistan’s first smart city. She invited Huawei to invest in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab, and promised full support for the company to set up an office in the Nawaz Sharif IT City.
She expressed great interest in Huawei’s expertise in telecommunications, electronics, and digital solutions, emphasizing the potential for creating innovative partnerships. The chief minister highlighted how collaboration with Huawei could help boost Punjab’s technological development and open new opportunities for growth.
Additionally, she assured Huawei of full cooperation in establishing an assembly and manufacturing plant in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz also proposed the launch of Huawei retail outlets and after-sales service centers across the province to provide better services to the public.
The visit underscores the Punjab government’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and encouraging foreign investment in technology. It also reflects a shared vision of innovation and progress between Punjab and Huawei.
