McDonald’s replaces chairs with exercise bikes to help customers improve their health with food

A TikTok video of a woman eating fast food while riding an exercise bike at a McDonald’s in China has gone viral, garnering over 35 million views in only five days as people marvel at the magic of exercising while eating fast food. It’s not just an exercise bike with a table connected to it; it’s also a phone charger.

According to a McDonald’s China post about the shop’s opening, it was first rolled out in September at an outlet in the southern Guangdong province that promotes a low-carbon, environmentally friendly lifestyle.

The bikes are composed of recycled plastic and allow riders to create electricity while exercising, which can then be used to charge their phones or other electronic gadgets.
