Michael Jordan’s Sneakers Sold for Whopping $2.2 Million, Become the Most Expensive Trainers Ever Sold

The most expensive pair of shoes to ever be sold at auction, Michael Jordon’s renowned Nike Air Jordan 1 shoe fetched an amazing $2.2 million. The buyer of the trainers remained anonymous as the transaction took place at a private auction at Sotheby’s.

The iconic red, black and white sneakers, which were worn by Jordan during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls in 1985, have become a cultural icon and a symbol of the athlete’s legendary status.

The final offer made on Tuesday was at the lower end of the Sotheby’s price range predictions, which stated in March that the shoes could sell for up to $4 million. Yet, it fulfilled the prediction that the red and black trainers would rank among the most costly ever sold.
