Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, becoming the latest Pakistani bowler to reach the No. 1 position. The ICC confirmed the change in its latest rankings update on September 23, 2026.
Abrar now has 736 rating points, just one point ahead of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who has 735 points. Rashid had held the top position for around six months before dropping to second. Australia’s Adam Zampa is third with 700 points.
The achievement makes Abrar the fifth Pakistani bowler to top the ICC’s T20I bowling rankings. He joins former Pakistan stars Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul and Imad Wasim on the list.
Abrar’s rise has followed a strong period in T20 cricket. He had already climbed to second in the rankings earlier this year and continued moving up the table.
The latest update also brought gains for other players. England captain Harry Brook moved to a career-best fourth place in T20I batting after a strong series against Sri Lanka. The ICC said Abrar’s rise was one of the main changes in the latest rankings.
