Millionaires go bankrupt after Pine Nuts (Chilgozas) price crash.

The price of pine nuts has plummeted, causing farmers in Khyber-North Pakhtunkhwa’s and South Waziristan tribal districts to lose millions of rupees (K-P).

Dealers claimed that prices had dropped by more than 50% this season, putting many of them out of business. Pine nuts were sold for Rs250,000 per 50 kilogramme last year, compared to Rs100,000 per 50 kilogramme this year.

Waziristan has been producing nuts for thousands of years, and they are in high demand due to their high quality. However, in the last 15 years, prices have risen to an all-time high, making it out of reach for the vast majority of customers. The price increase, on the other hand, was tremendously beneficial to the growers, who were able to generate significant profits.
