Minister: The government wants to create a zero-hunger programme

Syed Fakhar Imam, the Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, stated that the government intends to launch the National Zero Hunger Program with the goal of stabilizing food prices, developing climate-smart and precision agriculture, and expanding social protection.

Nutritional food security is a major priority for Pakistan’s development strategy, according to the National Food Security Policy 2018 and Agriculture Transformation Plan 2021.

“The government is dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieving zero hunger by prioritizing sustainable agriculture,” the minister stated.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team, according to the minister, are committed to ending hunger in Pakistan’s population and are resolved to join “The Coalition of Action for Achieving Zero Hunger” as part of the UN Food System Summit project.
