The International Cricket Council has named Pakistan’s top cricketer Mohammad Rizwan the Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year as it reveals the winners of the ICC Awards in several categories.
“Sheer consistency, unwavering spirit, and some beautiful knocks – the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year enjoyed a spectacular run in 2021,” the ICC stated in a statement.
While discussing the victory, wicket keeper-batter Rizwan expressed his delight that Pakistan had won the prize.
“It’s a pleasure to see Pakistan’s name among the world’s top teams,” Rizwan remarked in an interview with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Rizwan attributed his prize to the team’s management, fellow cricketers, and analysts, stating that “team Pakistan has a standing in [the top squads of] the world thanks to everyone’s hard effort.”
