Mohsin Naqvi Thanks PCB Team, Law Enforcement, and Officials for Successful Champions Trophy 2025

Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of PCB, praised Pakistan’s successful hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He highlighted the smooth execution of the tournament and Pakistan’s capability to organize major international events.

Naqvi expressed gratitude to the PCB team, law enforcement agencies, provincial governments, ICC officials, and the participating teams for their collective efforts in making the event a success.

He emphasized the historic significance of hosting this prestigious tournament, noting that it boosted Pakistan’s reputation as a reliable host for future events. This was the first time in nearly three decades that Pakistan hosted a global ICC event, marking a momentous occasion for the country and its cricket-loving populace.

However, despite the event’s organizational success, many fans expressed disappointment over Pakistan’s performance on the field.

The host team failed to win a single match and exited the tournament early, leading to widespread criticism from fans and former cricketers alike. This early elimination not only dampened the spirits of the local supporters but also raised concerns about the future of Pakistan’s cricket team and its management.

The team’s poor performance had broader implications beyond the tournament. Reports indicated that Pakistan’s early exit could negatively impact the brand value of the national cricket team.

Attracting fans to stadiums became a challenging task, and there were concerns about decreased interest from sponsors, advertisers, and broadcasters. This situation could also affect the Pakistan Super League (PSL), as the diminished enthusiasm might lead to reduced engagement and financial support.
