More than 250 rickshaw drivers been penalised for illegally entering Islamabad

Over 250 rickshaw drivers have been fined and 75 have been imprisoned by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) for illegally entering the capital city.

ITP has initiated a specific crackdown on rickshaw drivers, particularly in rural areas, who are illegally accessing federal capital premises.

Omer khan has asked all zonal DSPs to take action against unlicensed rickshaw pullers and has requested daily reports, According to an ITP officer.

The official quoted SSP as saying, “Illegal rickshaws will not be allowed to enter Islamabad premises under any circumstances. The rule of law will be ensured as much as possible. The purpose of the action is to ensure the flow of traffic and the provision of an integrated traffic system for citizens.”
