Murree, Kotli Sattian Declared Forest Reserves

The Rawalpindi district administration, led by Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, has declared Kotli Sattian and Murree as forest reserves, aiming to transform the national park into a tourist destination.

This decision aligns with the directives of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench regarding the Murree Contingency Plan. Senior Member Nabil Javed emphasized prompt compliance with the court’s instructions to ensure safety.

Javed called for the removal of barriers hindering Murree’s master plan and urged swift local preparations, instructing various departments to contribute additional labor.

The commissioner outlined plans to address expected snowfall, and illegal constructions have been demolished as part of an encroachment operation. Additionally, a parking plaza is proposed on Murree Improvement Trust’s land.
