Murtaza Wahab issued a statement on social media after being nominated as the People’s Party’s candidate for Mayor of Karachi.
The Pakistan People’s Party has announced the names of its nominated chairman and deputy chairman for various cities in Sindh, with Murtaza Wahab chosen as the mayor of Karachi and Salman Murad as the People’s Party candidate for deputy mayor of Karachi.
Murtaza Wahab thanked the entire People’s Party leadership, including Bilawal Bhutto, Asif Zardari, and Faryal Talpur, for nominating him for mayor in a social media statement.
He wrote, “I am a Karachi citizen, and the city runs through my veins; there is no greater honor than to work for the betterment of my city.”
“I promise to use my best abilities to move the entire city forward in collaboration with all stakeholders,” he said.
Murtaza Wahab stated that the mayor will be the chairman of all relevant institutions, that he will lead the federation alongside the Sindh government, and that there is a need to connect people’s hearts in the city.
