NADRA Introduces New B-Form for Children with Extended Security

NADRA is set to launch a new version of the B-Form, designed specifically for children aged 10 and above. This upgraded birth registration certificate introduces advanced security measures aimed at safeguarding identity information.

For the first time, the B-Form will require the inclusion of a child’s fingerprints and photograph, making it a more secure document. These updates were confirmed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling issues such as identity theft, fake documentation, and human trafficking.

The issuance of the enhanced B-Form will begin on January 15, with the process gradually rolling out across NADRA centers.

To apply, children must be accompanied by at least one legal guardian or parent. Applicants will also need to provide the child’s computerized birth certificate and the guardian’s computerized national identity card. Once all formalities are completed, the new B-Form, featuring the child’s photograph and fingerprints, will be issued.

This updated document will now be mandatory for securing a passport, as older versions of the B-Form without these features will no longer be accepted. NADRA’s move marks a major step toward strengthening the country’s identification systems.

Future enhancements will include integration with provincial Civil Registration Management Systems and advanced identification methods like iris scans. Additionally, efforts are underway to improve NADRA’s Pak ID mobile app, with plans to issue digital IDs for all citizens. These measures aim to create a robust and reliable identification framework for Pakistan.
