The Nepal cricket team has arrived in Karachi as they gear up for their participation in the Asia Cup 2023.
The team was provided with strong security measures to ensure safety and subsequently transported to their hotel safely. Nepal team will be playing their debut match against Pakistan on August 30th in Multan.
In preparation for the upcoming tournament, training sessions for the team will commence from tomorrow at the National Bank Stadium. They will also engage in practice matches before departing for Multan on August 27.
2023 signifies Nepal’s inaugural appearance in the Asia Cup, placed in group A, they will compete against Pakistan and India. Their clash against India is set to take place on September 4 in Sri Lanka.
The Asia Cup tournament, co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, is scheduled from August 30 to September 17. Due to political considerations, India’s decision not to play in Pakistan prompted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to propose a hybrid model, which was accepted by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) ultimately.
This edition of the tournament marks the return of Asia Cup to the grounds of Pakistan after 5 years.
