New School and College Timings Announced Across Punjab

Schools and colleges across Punjab are set to welcome students back to classrooms on August 15, 2025, as the summer holidays come to an end. The Punjab government has shared the latest school and college timings to help parents and students plan for the new term.

All public and private educational institutions will follow the usual timetable starting mid-August unless an extension is announced due to the ongoing heatwave. Many families are still waiting to see if the government will delay reopening if high temperatures continue.

According to the current plan, single-shift schools will start classes at 7:30 am and finish by 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, they will close earlier at 11:30 am. Schools with double shifts will run the morning shift at the same time, but the second shift will begin at 2:00 pm and end by 6:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the evening shift will be slightly shorter, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The Education Department has reminded parents and schools to stay updated on any announcements. Since temperatures remain high in many cities, authorities say they are keeping a close watch on the weather and student safety before making any final decisions.

If no further holiday is granted, normal classes are expected to resume fully by Monday, August 18. Parents are advised to prepare uniforms and supplies but stay alert in case the government decides to extend the break for a few more days.
