NITB develops an online complaints portal for overseas Pakistanis

Earlier overseas Pakistanis had been tackling various difficulties in conveying their issues to the appropriate authorities in their own home country and an effective and easily accessible platform for this purpose was needed. Similarly, there was no adequate mechanism accessible for the authorities to follow up on the complaints filed by overseas Pakistanis.

But now there is good news for overseas Pakistani in UAE, as they can file their complaints, come up with proposals & suggestions, and give feedback too, by using the new Foreign Minister’s Portal introduced by NITB (National Information Technology Board) on Monday.

According to the report of Gulf News, Pakistan ‘FM’s Portal’ has primarily launched to assist the overseas Pakistanis to register complaints, suggestions, & feedback at five Pakistani missions abroad, including Dubai, Jeddah, London, New York, & Barcelona

“The #FMPortal is now live via our app for our missions & diaspora in Jeddah, Dubai, Barcelona, London & New York & will soon be scaled to include all missions” the foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi tweeted on June 28, 2021.

According to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the portal is established with the goal of enhancing the relationships between overseas Pakistanis & their missions.

The main part of the latest initiative is that even foreign citizens in these countries can download & register the portal to voice their concerns and put forward proposals just in case they are confronting any problems in their dealings with the foreign missions in these countries. The portal will slowly be launched at all Pakistani missions abroad.

The Foreign Minister’s Portal is presently a pilot scheme and is Fostered by the NITB and commissioned by the Department of Information Technology & Telecom (MoITT), the Overseas Pakistani community could download the Android app for now, with the iOS version set to be released later.
