Babar, who has been Pakistan’s regular cricket captain since 2019, is also waiting for the PCB’s official statement regarding his captaincy.
Muhammad Amir believes that at this point, when the PCB is only a few months old, changing the caption is not a very good decision. They should officially announce Babar Azam, as he is competent enough, just as they announced the head coach.
It must be kept in mind that Babr Azam has led in 115 matches since 2019 and has outperformed in all of his matches, which surely makes him the best choice to remain as a captain, and the PCB’s official declaration of his captaincy, as Amir said, would make his mind up and allow him to properly work on team selection and other strategies.
