‘No Financial Loss’ to PCB for Hosting ICC Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has assured that hosting the ICC Champions Trophy has not caused any financial loss. All costs related to the tournament were covered by the International Cricket Council (ICC), which allocated a budget of $70 million for the event.

As the host nation, PCB received a standard host fee of $6 million. In addition to this, revenue from ticket sales is still being calculated, and the final financial results will be assessed later.

The upgrades made to the stadiums were not just for this tournament but were part of PCB’s long-term plan to prepare for future international cricket events. Since it has been 29 years since Pakistan last hosted an ICC tournament, these improvements were seen as a necessary investment.

There are also ongoing discussions about the possibility of holding five matches in Dubai, but no final decision has been made yet. PCB will continue to evaluate the overall financial impact once all calculations are complete.
