No Possibility of Internet Restoration in Country Today: PTA

The recent decision by the Pakistani government to enforce a nationwide shutdown of mobile internet services has resulted in substantial financial losses for mobile phone companies and online transportation services such as taxis and bikes.

The internet shutdown was implemented following protests that erupted across the country after the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. As a consequence, online taxi and bike services have remained unavailable for the past two days, causing significant inconvenience for commuters who heavily rely on these services for transportation.

Sources within the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have indicated that there are currently no plans to restore internet services in the country today.

This prolonged shutdown is estimated to be causing a daily loss of approximately one billion rupees for both the government and mobile phone companies, exacerbating the economic challenges already faced by Pakistan.
