Hungary’s Prime Minister Péter Magyar thanked Pakistan after receiving a special gift — 90 delicious Pakistani mangoes from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In a social media post, Magyar joked that only a few mangoes were left within an hour of receiving the box.
Magyar later reshared his post and compared the mango gift with another diplomatic present he received at the NATO Summit, a revolver from Turkish President Erdogan. He wrote, “Not everyone gives a revolver as a gift,” which brought smiles and sparked fun conversations online. The post received many likes and playful comments from people in both countries.
Pakistan is famous for its sweet mangoes, often called the “king of fruits.” Sending mangoes as diplomatic gifts is a long tradition during the summer season. It helps build friendly relations between nations in a simple and tasty way.
This light-hearted exchange shows the warm ties between Pakistan and Hungary. While guns and weapons are serious gifts, fresh mangoes represent peace, culture, and goodwill.
