WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is introducing a new feature that makes it easier for users to link their accounts to WhatsApp Web using their phone number. This update, version 2.23.14.18, is currently being released through the Google Play Beta Program.
The feature, known as “link with phone number,” is currently available to some beta testers and will be made available to more users in the coming days. Previously, users had to link their accounts with the web version by scanning a QR code, but now they can simply link their account using their phone number.
To link a new device, users will now see a new option where they can enter their “primary account phone number” and a “one-time code generated by WhatsApp Web.” This feature is particularly useful for users whose cameras are not working, as it allows them to connect to WhatsApp Web without scanning a QR code.
It’s important to note that this feature only works with WhatsApp Web and cannot be used to link a WhatsApp account to a secondary mobile device using the phone number.
