Now You can Get Visa-Free Entry to Bahrain

Citizens of the United Arab Emirates, are not required to take visa to enter Kingdom of Bahrain, but the rest of visitors to the Kingdom of other nationalities must obtain a visa to enter.

In order to ensure a respectable representation of the country abroad that befit United Arab Emirates nationals and to maintain a pleasant stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the embassy provides you some advice and guidance:

  • Be sure to respect all laws and regulations as well as any applicable rules in the kingdom.
  • Commitment to the decisions and precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain related to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, in case of any inquiries, contact the hotline (444).
  • Comply with traffic signs and the applicable driving rules in case of arriving by car or using a vehicle to tour around during your stay in the country.
  • Check your passport validity to ensure that you have sufficient duration of validity, at least not less than six months beyond your actual inbound and outbound travel period.
  • The national identity card is accepted as valid travel documents between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain; however, it is highly recommended you keep your passport number, family book or identification document for reference or when you need to process with the mission in case of loss.

Alien residents of GCC countries (Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE) are eligible for an Visa for either 3 days or 7 days, if travelling through Bahrain International Airport.

Similar to the Visit Visa, it is an electronic Visa obtained from this site. There is no need to have a Visa stamped in your passport prior to your arrival in Bahrain.

 3 Day stay period.

 7 Day stay period.

Note that if an Visa application is not approved, the Visa fee will be refunded but there will be no refund of the processing fee.

 How do I pay.

On this website you can pay the required fee using a credit or debit card (through a secure session with a payment gateway).

 How long can I stay.

The GCC Visa allows you to stay in Bahrain for either 3 days or 7 days, depending on the Visa purchased. An extension can be obtained for the same period by visiting NPRA in Bahrain. (Some nationalities can stay longer). The GCC Visa is able to be used only once, for a single entry.

 Who can apply.

A person of any nationality who has a Resident Permit for a GCC country in their passport is eligible for a GCC Visa. This permit will be checked at the border in Bahrain and on the date of arrival the Resident Permit must be at least 6 months old, and should be valid for at least another 6 months.

If you do not meet the criteria for a GCC Visa, or if you hold a travel document other than a passport, you may still be eligible for a Visa on arrival, or a sponsored Visa. Total fee – BD 17 (approximately USD 45) What are the conditions – The GCC Visa is issued with the following conditions:

  1. You must be outside Bahrain. (Visas cannot be applied for by those travellers already in the Kingdom)
  2. You must travel through Bahrain International Airport. This Visa cannot be used for travel through the King Fahad Causeway.
  3. You must have a passport (not any another type of travel document) and it should be valid for 6 months from arrival in Bahrain.
  4. You must be capable of supporting yourself (and dependents if travelling with you) during the visit.
  5. Your entry must not violate the security and national welfare of Bahrain.
  6. You must use a GCC Visa within 30 days of its approval. (After this time the Visa will expire and you will have to apply again and pay another fee).
  7. You must have used your Visa, or it should have expired, before you can apply for another Visa. (It is not possible to have more than one Visa issued for a passport at a time).

 How long does it take.

Approval of an application is not given immediately. Applications take up to 72 hours to process. We will advise you by email when a decision has been made.
