The brilliant students and faculty from Pakistan Navy Engineering College, NUST (PNEC), disclosed their Formula Electric Racing Car in an event on Monday. This Formula Electric Racing NUST (FERN) is the result of unwavering hard work put in by a team of 14 members including both boys and girls. FERN is set to appear in Formula Student competition 2023 scheduled in United Kingdom in July.
The electric car operates on 350 V battery, requiring at least 2 hours to charge. While talking to Dawn News, the faculty adviser, and Associate Professor of PNEC, Bilal Muhammad Khan claimed that 14-memebered team consisting of 7 girls and 7 boys along with 25 trainees from mechanical and electrical departments of the University took this project.
Commandant Tauqeer Ahmed Khawaja, while addressing the event appraised the hard work of students and especially girls. He further mentioned that FERN is one of the leading societies in the University. The Team Manager, Ali Kashif, also admired the team and parents.
The students from Pakistan Navy Engineering College, NUST (PNEC) first presented a Formula Car in Germany in 2012. Although they could not succeed, best wishes are with the team of FERN this time.
