Objections to Petition President Dr Arif Alvi’s Disqualification

The Supreme Court has raised objections to the disqualification petition of President Arif Alvi.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by a citizen named Imtiaz to disqualify President Dr Arif Alvi.

The Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has raised objections to the petition filed for the disqualification of Dr Arif Alvi. Under Article 248, the President cannot be made a party.

The Registrar’s Office said in the objection that the question of public interest and fundamental rights was not informed in the petition and the points raised regarding the use of 184-3 were not satisfactory.

The supreme court further said that the petitioner did not contact any other relevant forum and did not give the reason for not contacting, the name of the lawyer who wrote the petition was not given.
