Oil Giant Meets EV Giant! Saudi Aramco Signs Deal with China’s BYD on New Energy Vehicle Tech

Saudi Aramco has partnered with Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant BYD to develop new technologies for cleaner and more efficient vehicles. The agreement was signed through Aramco’s technology company, SATC, and aims to make vehicles that use less fuel and create fewer harmful emissions. This move is part of Saudi Arabia’s larger plan to support cleaner and more sustainable transportation options.

The partnership comes soon after Tesla officially launched in Riyadh, which has increased competition in the electric vehicle market across the country. Aramco’s collaboration with BYD is expected to boost innovation and speed up the shift to electric and hybrid vehicles in the region.

Saudi Arabia has set a goal to have 30% of all vehicles on the road be electric by the year 2030. While the country still needs to build more charging stations and EV infrastructure, this new partnership is a strong step toward meeting that goal. Aramco hopes to play a key role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s vision for a greener future by working with one of the world’s leading EV manufacturers.
