A citizen of the Gulf kingdom of Oman has offered US$1 million to buy an Arabic robe gifted to Argentina’s star footballer, Lionel Messi.
According to details, Ahmed Al-Barwani, a lawyer and Member of Parliament of Oman, has offered Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi 1 million US dollars to buy an Arabic robe (bisht) from him, which he presented to him in Doha on Sunday, December 18.
After the team’s dramatic victory in the final, it was presented by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
In one of his tweets in this regard, he wrote, “My friend Messi! I congratulate you on winning the World Cup. The Emir of Qatar surprised me when he placed an Arabic robe on your shoulders, a symbol of greatness and wisdom. I offer you a million dollars. I am asking them to give me that Arabic robe.”
