The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has extended working hours at eight major Regional Passport Offices across Pakistan to make passport services easier for citizens. The new schedule started on August 20, 2026, and will remain in place from Monday to Friday.
The offices covered by the new timings are located in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Quetta. Under the new system, each office will work in two shifts, keeping services available from 8am until midnight.
The first shift will run from 8am to 4pm, while the second shift will continue from 4pm to 12am. The extended hours are expected to help people who cannot visit passport offices during normal daytime working hours.
The decision is also aimed at reducing crowds, queues and waiting times at busy passport offices by spreading public dealing across two shifts. It was reviewed during a meeting chaired by Directorate General of Immigration and Passports Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa, where officials discussed public facilitation and service delivery.
The department already provides passport services through offices across the country, while fast-track facilities are also available in several cities.
