Emirates Airline has announced its highest ever profit in the 2022-2023 annual report, leaving employees thrilled. Despite previous losses, the company’s remarkable turnaround resulted in a staggering Dh10.9 billion (US$3.0 billion) profit.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive expressed gratitude towards the hardworking employees. Moreover, he commended the company’s business model, meticulous planning, and the dedicated efforts of its workforce.
To recognize their dedication, over 100,000 Emirates employees will receive a bonus. In an email, Sheikh Ahmed announced that the 24 week bonus, proportionate to each employee’s basic salary, would be added to their May pay.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, lauded the achievement as well. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the airline sector during the global crisis and praised Emirates Airlines for its resilience.
The company’s subsidiary, Dnata, also experienced significant revenue growth during this period. As pandemic related restrictions eased worldwide, the group expanded its air transport and travel related operations. And it resulted in a historic cash balance of Dh42.5 billion (US$11.6 billion).
