PAF to Unveil Locally Made Stealth Radars for Fighter Jets

Pakistan is all set to unveil an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar built in-house that will be used on the ground and in the air.

AESA is a second-generation phased radar that allows radio waves of different frequencies to be sent in various directions without the antenna moving.

Additionally, AESA radars allows aircraft and ships to transmit strong signals while remaining undetectable and unaffected by jamming.

As per details, Pakistan’s domestic AESA radar is being built by the Air Weapon Complex (AWC), a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) R&D center, in partnership with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Although full specifications and details of the radar are currently unavailable, sources suggest that the AESA radar, which was developed in-house, will use the latest gallium nitride (GaN) transmit and receive modules, which are only owned by a few countries.
