Pakistan and China reaffirm commitment to advance CPEC

According to the sources, on Saturday a joint press statement was issued on the ‘Third Session of the Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue of China & Pakistan ‘, in which they reiterated the pledge to proceed further to strongly progress the building and construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) & Guarantee of a timely manner the successful completion of under-construction projects.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi-Foreign Minister of Pakistan & his Chinese equivalent Wang Yi also exchanged opinions on mutual strategic, economic & security collaboration, Covid-19 pandemic, & international & regional matters of mutual interest.

A joint media release published at the end of their conversations stated that both sides emphasized that a peaceful, balanced, cooperative & prosperous South Asia was in the mutual interests of all countries.

“Both sides underscored CPEC has entered a new phase of high-quality development, contributing to the socio-economic development in Pakistan,” said the press release.

This session took place in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, China.
