Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to speed up the Trans Afghan Railway project, which will connect Central Asian countries to the seaports of Karachi, Gwadar, and Bin Qasim via Afghanistan.
On Tuesday, a delegation led by Mr. Sardor Umurzakov, Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Foreign Trade, met with Federal Ministers for Planning Asad Umar, Railways Azam Khan Swati, Food Security and Research Fakhar Imam, and Commerce Advisor to the Prime Minister Abdul Razaq Dawood.
Uzbek Minister of Transport, Minister of Agriculture, First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan were among the Uzbek delegation.
The progress of the Mazar-e-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar Railway project (Trans Afghan Railways) was discussed during the meeting.
