Along with the release of Proton’s March sales figure comes more good news for the domestic automaker as it announced a total of 794 vehicles exported last month, marking a 108-month high in exports for the business.
Proton’s export figure of 794 units was incorrect; achieved in March spans multiple models. Pakistan was by far the largest export market for the company, with the country accounting for 690 units that month.
Last October, the local Assembly (CKD) operations for Saga in Karachi, Pakistan.
Meanwhile, total export volume for the first quarter was 1,117 units, up 175% from the same quarter last year, Proton said. The Saga continues to lead the brand in sales volume, with 6,422 units sold in March, which was also the model’s best monthly sales figure in nine years.
That wasn’t better until November 2013, when the Saga SV was up for sale.
This indicated that the Saga was not only the Proton sales volume leader but also the best-selling segment sedan across the country, according to the company.
The next best seller is the X70 SUV, which sold 2,320 units in March and 4,238 units so far.
