Pakistan has diligently complied with and completed all technical requirements of the Financial Action Task Force, according to the Foreign Office, and hopes that the world organisation would make decisions in accordance with the technical norms.
During his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said there are concerns of politicisation in the FATF by some countries, where technical standards are put aside and political considerations take precedence.
He did say, though, that Pakistan is a powerful and significant country that knows how to protect its own interests.
Pakistan has faced and confronted the threat of terrorism with a great deal of courage and success, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said in response to a query.
According to him, India has a history of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan. We are aware of the danger and will take all necessary measures to mitigate it.
