In the latest annual update of the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings, India has extended its lead at the top and remains the top-ranked team, while England is in second place.
India has gained an additional two points, bringing their lead to 267 points, which is eight points ahead of England’s score of 259.
Despite having a disappointing T20 World Cup in 2021, India has been performing exceptionally well in T20Is since May 2020, with only one bilateral series loss against Sri Lanka in 2021.
They have won 13 other series, and one ended in a draw against South Africa in 2022.
The updated rankings take into account all T20I series played since May 2020, with previous series before May 2022 given a 50% weighting, and subsequent series given 100% weighting.
