Pakistan Earn $46.7 Million by Exporting Mangoes to 42 Countries

Pakistani mangoes are famous not just within the country but also around the world for their incredible sweetness and rich flavor. These mangoes are a significant source of income for Pakistani growers, particularly through exports to international markets. This year, Pakistani mangoes were exported to 42 countries, bringing in $46.7 million in revenue, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The demand for these mangoes remains strong, with several countries importing large quantities.During a recent session in the National Assembly, the commerce ministry revealed which country bought the most Pakistani mangoes this year. The United Kingdom emerged as the largest importer, purchasing mangoes worth $13.2 million. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the second largest buyer, importing mangoes valued at $9.2 million.

Other notable buyers included Germany, which bought mangoes worth $1.9 million; Oman, with imports totaling $1.7 million; Saudi Arabia, at $1.3 million; and Afghanistan, which imported mangoes worth $2.2 million. Together, these countries contributed around $4.4 million to Pakistan’s total mango exports. For the current financial year, Pakistan exported a total of 13,681 metric tons of mangoes, generating significant revenue from 42 different countries. However, earlier this year, the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (APFVEA) raised concerns about the potential impact of climate change on the country’s ability to meet its mango export targets. These concerns highlight the challenges that the industry might face in the future, despite the current success in the global market.
