PEMRA has announced a job opening for the position of Executive Member, inviting applications from qualified candidates. This opportunity comes under the provisions of the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023. The position is full-time, offering a four-year tenure, and is open to eligible candidates from diverse professional backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this prestigious role, candidates must meet specific requirements:
- Expertise: The candidate should be a distinguished individual with expertise in one or more of the following fields: media, law, human rights, or social service.
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree in Media Studies, Business Administration, Management, Finance, or Law from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university in Pakistan, or an equivalent degree from an international institution.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 61 years as of the closing date for applications.
- Experience: Candidates will be evaluated based on their relevant qualifications, professional experience in reputable institutions, and their knowledge and understanding of electronic media and media laws.
- Government Employees: Government servants who meet the eligibility criteria are also encouraged to apply, provided they do so through the proper channel.
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to perform duties as outlined in the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, and the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023, along with the rules established under these laws. The Executive Member will play a key role in regulating electronic media in Pakistan, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.
The tenure for this position is four years. However, the incumbent will retire upon reaching the age of 65, whichever comes first.
