Pakistan Exported Over 13.64 Million Kg of Salt Worth Rs. 51.2 Crores to China

In the first quarter of 2025, Pakistan exported over 13.64 million kilograms of salt to China. The total value of this salt export reached around Rs. 51.2 crores, or approximately $1.88 million. This represents a significant increase of 40% compared to the same period last year.

This strong growth in salt exports highlights the improving trade relationship between Pakistan and China, particularly under the framework of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. The demand for different types of salt in China, including edible salt, pure sodium chloride, and industrial salt, has been rising steadily. Pakistan, known for its vast natural salt reserves, especially Himalayan pink salt, has been able to meet this growing need.

The boost in exports not only brings more income to Pakistan’s economy but also strengthens the ties between the two countries. Increased trade cooperation like this paves the way for more economic opportunities, future investments, and deeper partnerships between Pakistan and China.

As global demand for natural and industrial salt continues to grow, Pakistan’s position as a key supplier is expected to become even stronger in the coming years.
