The nuclear weapons count has been predicted to be hiked in the country in the next 10 years after a reduction of 35 years.
The nine nuclear powers — Britain, China, France, India, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan, the United States, and Russia — had 12,705 nuclear weapons in early 2022, down 375 from early 2021.
As per the records from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The biggest nuclear power is known to be Russia, with 5,977 warheads being operational, in stock, or waiting to be dismantled in early 2022, a decrease of 280 from a year ago.
According to the records of SIPRI, about 1,600 of its warheads are being operated right now.
During this time period, the US gained 5,428 warheads, 120 less than the past year but 1,750 more dispersed than Russia.
China comes in third place in terms of overall rankings, with 350, gained by France with 290, the United Kingdom with 225, Pakistan with 165, India with 160, and Israel with 90.
Israel is the sole country that does not explicitly agree to the possession of nuclear weapons.
